When I graduated from the University of Iowa with a sports journalism degree, I didn’t envision pursuing a career in this industry. During my time as a sports reporter in college, I was underpaid, overworked, and burnt out. I covered sports I was uninterested in, I went through the motions to put a good opportunity on my resume, but I quickly realized I was getting a degree in something I didn’t like doing.
Instead of covering the assignments handed out to me, I decided to have fun writing about what interests me, and it became a hobby rather than a chore again. I had a couple of opportunities to write about the NFL Draft during my college newspaper career, and those were the articles I most enjoyed.
This website and the social media accounts accompanying it will hopefully help someone win a fantasy league, get a better understanding of how the NFL Draft operates, or justify why teams make the decisions they do. I’m excited to see how this grows, and if it doesn’t, that’s okay too.
